He was a neighbor to the previous Novominsker Rebbe. One year, the Rebbe's Succah fell down during Succos and he spent Succos by the Schreibers.

≤p>When the family came to the U.S.A. some members of the Schaller family≤/p>≤p>changed their surname to their mother's maiden name. He was highly trusted in≤/p>≤p>matters of Kashrus. He was a neighbor to the previous Novominsker Rebbe. One≤/p>≤p>year, the Rebbe's Succah burned down during Succos and he spent Succos by the≤/p>≤p>Schreibers.≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>In the words of his cousin, Rav SenderLinchner, "When he made≤/p>≤p>kiddush, you knew he was making kiddush!"≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>Upon departing for America in 1901, he was censured for leaving to a "treife medina". He worked in a "sweatshop" from after havdalla on motzai shabbos until licht benching erev shabbos. Despite being poverty stricken, he, not once, was mechallel≤/p>≤p>shabbos. (He would break his cigarettes into thirds, to make them last longer). He was very close with his brother-in-law, Rav Shraga Feivel and consulted him in all matters of religion. Rav Shraga Feivel insisted that his children attend yeshiva. Not≤/p>≤p>having a penny to his name he felt that this was unattainable. Rav Shraga Feivel said, "First enroll them, then worry about the tuition".≤/p>≤p>He passed away on his 62nd birthday.≤/p>Occ: Coat production
