About Yost Byler
Obit - New Castle Democrat - 03/13/1902
"Yost Byler, an Amishman, who had lived in Wilmington township for many years died after a short illness one day last week. He was 80 years of age and was born in Lancaster county, but came to this locality in 1848, settling on the farm where he died. He was of Swiss descent and was one of a family of eight brothers, five of whom survive him. Mr. Byler had earned the respect of the entire community by his strict business integrity and honesty, and his life was one of uprightness and probity, and his death will be general lamented by those who knew him. His wife passed away about two years ago and he never recovered from the shock of that affliction. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Eli K. Byler of Wilmington township, Enos K. of Mahoning county, O., and Jacob K. of Geauga county, O. The surviving brothers are John of Pulaski township, Rudy of Mercer county, Hanle of Holmes county, O.: Jonathan and Reuben of Geauga county, O."∼Yost was the son of Jacob and Nancy Kauffman Byler. He was the husband of Catherine Kauffman.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Apr 18 2024, 16:54:21 UTC
