About Zéphérina Blais
FUNERAL OF MISS BLAIS AT NEWPORT
The funeral of Miss Zéphérina Blais was held Tuesday morning at 8 with a solemn high mass at St.Mary's Catholic church, Rev. Norbert LaChance, pastor, being the celebrant. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Newport.
Miss Blais' death came Saturday following an illness of four months. She had been operated upon at Doctor Noël' private hospital at Sherbrooke, P.Q., when her condition was serious early last summer. She did not improve, but steadily declined in health until the time of her death.
She was born May 5, 1896 at Bromptonville, P.Q., and was living in Newport for the past three years at the home of her mother, Mrs. William Greenwood
Besides her mother, she is survived by four brothers and three sisters. They are: Mrs. Joseph LaFountain of Sherbrooke, Mrs. J.A. Landry of Sherbrooke and Mrs. Alfred Martin, all of Sherbrooke, F.X. Blais of Bromptonville, J.B. Blais of Fitchburg, Mass, Wilfred Blais of St. John's P.Q., and William Blais of Montreal.
