About Zachariah Shattuck
A Patriot of the American Revolution for NEW HAMPSHIRE. DAR Ancestor # A211835
Zachariah Shattuck is the ancestor of most of the local Shattucks. He was married to Elizabeth Fisk of Pepperell MA by the Reverend Joseph Emerson. This was the first marriage performed by Emerson. Shattuck was a large owner of land in the South East part of the "Lost Town" of Monson and his acreage became part of Hollis after the dissolution of Monson in 1770. Zachariah had a large pine forest (coveted by the King) and was a raiser of rye. His children married into most of the early Hollis families including the Farleys, the Hardys, the Mooars, and the Colburns. His farm was located at Wheeler Road and hardy Lane.
