Sturgill book says this Zachariah Arrived New River Valley in 1794 from Md.
He was an Indian Scout for 10 days for this New River area.
From 1778-1798 he was on Grayson Cty Va, Wilkes Cy NC and Ashe Cty NC (Now Alleghany) tax lists, court and deed lists.
His land was next to Old James Sturgill and then Francis Sr's land on the New River.
In 1798, he sold the land to Francis Sr and then moved to Wise Cty Va near Appalachia.
John Sturgill (Francis Sr's son) and wife Jemima (Zachariah's daughter) moved near his farm when they moved from NC to Ky to Va. in 1816.
Zachariah married Rebecca.
DNA may show that his parents may be George Wells and Susannah Ward. The Wells and Ward family were together in Md.
