About Zella Moffitt Rush
Zella R. Clutter Moffitt, 93, Waynesburg woman was 93, died at 2:05 PM Wednesday, Sept.29, 1993, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following a three-week illness. She was born Oct. Oct. 17, 1899, in Richhill Township, a daughter of John Newton and Bertha Clutter Clutter. Mrs. Moffit had resided in Akron, Ohio, and Ft. Wayne, Indiana, for 37 years before moving to Greene County in 1969. She was employed by Akron Tire and Ruber Co. in Akron, Ohio, and later she was employed at the GE Plant in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, before her retirement. She was a former member of First Christian Church in Waynesburg. Her husband, Joseph Corbitt Moffitt, died March 29, 1963. Surviving are two brothers, Frank Clutter of Nineveh and Havel Clutter of Claysville RD 1; one sister, Goldie Clutter of Graysville RD 1; one grandson, Bruce Rush of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are one son, Ralph “Whiskers” Rush; two sisters, Clarice Rush and Vernie Davis; and four brothers, Orvis, Lester, Wilbert and Willis Clutter.
