Zilla Bell Breazeale Cooper

Zilla Bell Slaven was born December 24, 1882 in Arkansas. Her parents were Elias Meshack Slaven and Celia "Seally" Frances Milligan. Her family then moved to Canadian, Indian Territory (Oklahoma). In the 1900 census of Township 7, Chactow Nation, Indian Territory, Seally is a mother of 10 (8 living). The eight confirmed children are; William Raleigh, John, Elzina, Mary Elizabeth, Emma, Canzada Ann, Zilla Bell and Utora Inez. Names of unconfirmed children (from Ancestry.com) are possibly Thomas,Roseann,and James.

  At the age of 17, Zilla Slaven married William Leonard Breazeale. They were married on April 8,1900 in Canadian, Indian Territory. They had four children; Walter Carl, William Oda, Floda Ann and Dessmon Francis. William "Leonard" died November 3, 1911. After his death, Zilla married George Horace Cooper. They had three children; Horace George, Kathryn Inez and Georgia Mae. They moved to Wiley, Prowers County, Colorado around 1915. Between 1935 and 1940, they moved to California. 

 Zilla died at the age of 99 in Pasadena, California.
