Life Sketch

Zilpha Cleveland was born on October 29, 1749 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, a daughter of Enoch and Deborah (Fassett) Cleveland;

she married Nicholas Spoor about 1767 in Fair Haven, Rutland County, Vermont;

she died perhaps in 1816 in Hampton, New York, Hampton, Washington County, New York. Her burial place has not been found, but her headstone may have deteriorated to the extent that it is illegible or has sunk below the surface of the ground and its location is unknown.

It has been recorded that one of David Spoor's daughters' stated that Nicholas and Zilpha (Cleveland) Spoor had 2 additional children by the names of Charles and Betsy, but this is unsubstantiated, and if true, they most likely died young as they were not mentioned in Nicholas Spoor's Will.
