Continue reading the main storyShare This Page Share Tweet Pin Email More Save Zina Linda Gelman, a daughter of Maria Gelman and Dr. Lawrence Gelman of McAllen, Tex., was married there last evening to John Franklin Bash III, the son of Camille Bash and Mr. Bash Jr. of Columbia, Md. The Rev. Thomas Luczak, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony at Sacred Heart Church.

The bride, 25, and the bridegroom, 26, met at Harvard, from which they graduated, she cum laude and he summa cum laude, and where they received law degrees, she cum laude and he magna cum laude.

Mrs. Bash is to become a law clerk this month for Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, for whom Mr. Bash was a clerk until last week. He is to now become a law clerk for Associate Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court.

The bride’s father, an anesthesiologist, is the chief executive of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Tex.

The bridegroom’s mother is the chief financial officer and treasurer of Catholic Community Services of Washington. His father retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army at Fort Meade, Md.
