About Zirk Daniel Lotter
Zirk went to study medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland where he met his wife. He joined his brother Hans Lötter's commando during the Anglo Boer War and was captured on 5 September 1901 at the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Groenkloof and wounded in the eye. He was a POW at Bermuda after which he returned to his studies in Scotland.
He returned to South Africa and practiced in Cradock.
He married Ester Macrae 1886–1915 and had one son Frederick Darwin Alexander Lötter born about 1914.
