About Caroline Edna Zerilda Ahrens
GEDCOM Note
The back of photos of Edna has "Veazey's Okla City" “19” stamped on the edge in thecorner –no way to know if it was meant to be the year and cut off or perhaps abatch number. Most likely it was theVeazey store number. Veazey’s was a drugstore chain in OKC from 1906 to 1972. Atone time they had 21 stores. Veazey’s(as it was popularly referred to) opened eight new suburban stores in thetwo-year period from 1927-1929 and four more in the early 1930s. In 1938 theychampioned their fiercest rivals, the Crown Drug Store chain, and added theCrown stores to Veazey’s for a total of 21 stores. Edna died in Aug 1938. The trees are leafless indicating the photo was were taken in Winter 1937or earlier. 7/7/18 aka Mrs. Edna Forrest, Carrie Zerilda Helm.
