About count Constantine Gregory Branitsky

Polish ornithologist and collector of fauna specimens. He made several trips to Asia Minor and northern Africa, from where he brought many specimens of birds. He supported the activities of WładysławTaczanowski and his Zoological Cabinet in Warsaw, Poland.
Branicki's collection was used by his son, Ksawery, to open in 1887 the Branickis’ Museum in Warsaw. Several dozen animal species are also named after the Count.
