About duke Michael Vishnevetsky

from: http://www.lublin.eu/unia_lubelska/en/prezentacja_en.html

Michał Wiśniowiecki (born 1529, died 1584) – a duke related to the Zbaraski Family. He was the Castellan of Kiev and took part in Batory's campaign in the Duchy of Livonia. Michał Wiśniowiecki was Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki’s grandfather. He supported the Union of Lublin. At that time the Wiśniowieckis' nobility was confirmed as descendants of Giedyminas, Duke of Lithuania, though contemporary research shows that they came from the Rurik Dynasty.
