Worcester – Edward Mallett, 87, of Worcester died on Wednesday, August 8th in his home after an illness.

Mr. Mallett leaves his long-time companion Irene DeSalvio of Worcester and her son and his wife Donald and Cindy DeSalvio of Newfield, NH and their two children Sarah and Derek. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of the late Albert and Frances (Robinarci) Mallett. Mr. Mallett was also predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.

Mr. Mallett served in the United States Navy. He was a self-employed painter and contractor before retiring. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 11th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 11 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour at the funeral home will be held prior to mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice 120 Thomas St. Worcester, MA 01608.
