Joseph and Mary FitzRandolph Singletary were married about 1753/5. They had the following known children:

  • (1) William Singletary (c.1755 - 1805/10) m. Susannah Harrison, he was a RWS.
  • (2) Sarah Singletary (19 June 1757 - 24 June 1839) m. William Bryan (1757 - 1838). He was a RWS.
  • (3) Joseph E. Singletary (9 June 1761 - 14 April 1844) m. Nancy ? They moved to GA. He was a RWS.
  • (4) Josiah Singletary (24 Oct 1763 - 18 Sept. 1843) m. Sarah Ann Harrison (1759 - 1830) daughter of Edward (died prior to 1774) & Elizabeth Ellis Harrison. He was a RWS. On July 4, 1833 he married Sarah Regan, the widow of Rev. Francis Parker & daughter of Ralph Regan (RWS).
  • (5) Jonathan Singletary (9 July 1769 - 23 Jan. 1865) m. Sarah Ann Harrison (1781- 1850 ), daughter of Edward Harrison, Jr. who died in 1781 in the Battle of E'town, NC, and wife unknown.
  • (6) Benjamin Singletary (1760/70 - after 1830) RWS - moved to GA.
  • (7) Snowden Singletary (1765/74 - 1820/27) m. Mary Dunham. no children.

Note: The Will of Joseph Singletary is found in the Bladen Co., North Carolina Court Records in Will Book 2 page 505. Exs. of Joseph's Will in 1772 were Benjamin FitzRandoph and Ithamar Singletary. It names his wife, Mary. His children were, all, underage as he refers to them as minors. He made provisions for their education in his will. (Note: Joseph Singletary's Will had been erroneously re-copied as 1792 in Will Book 2 page 271-2 after a Court House fire. On 13 May 1980, the original will was brought to the Court in Elizabethtown, North Carolina and was re-entered into the record with the correct date of 1772 in Will BK 2 pg.505.)
