Our earliest European Settlers in New Zealand are the children of Robert Benjamin Reeve (1783-1861) and his wife Lydia Howard (1785-1874). Three of their children sailed from Suffolk, England to New Zealand in search of a better life.

Another early family are James Harris (1782-1853) and his wife Jane Mugridge (1786-1866) when two of their children came of New Zealand (Sophia Harris and Ann Hutchinson).

Their decendants are very inter-related to many of the early settlers of New Zealand and Indigenous Maori families of New Zealand. Many of my extended famiy Served in both WWI and WW2, some did not come back to New Zealand.

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they took in that name endures to this day. We remember the sacrifice of the fallen soliders, the wounded and the stollen lives of the young ANZAC soilders on 25th April each year. The red poppy, worn as a mark of respect, has become a symbol of war remembrance the world over. People in many countries wear the poppy to remember those who died in war or are serving in the armed forces. In many countries, the poppy is worn on Armistice Day (11 November), but in New Zealand it is most commonly seen on Anzac Day, 25 April.
