These people show 2 sets of parents. One is a set of "Ghost" parents which do not show a box to the right of their names on the Edit>Relationships page. The box is where you would check to remove or disconnect parents, so there's no way to remove these ghost parents. In addition, the cannot be merged with the real parents.
