Peter's case is well known in law, as he had attempted to appeal that due to the previous convictions, that for his third charge, due to pre-trial publicity and the notion that it would be impossible to have a fair trial. His appeal was subsequently dismissed, as it was ruled that it could be overcome by the judge giving the jury adequate direction.
