My family tree has 2 Bandyopadhyay lineage - my very own paternal lineage who used to live in Baghra/Bagra, Munshiganj, Bangladesh (see Sarkar family project - Sarkar is an acquired title); [http://www.geni.com/projects/Sarkar-Banerjee-family-tree-of-Bagra-Munshiganj-Bangladesh] The second one is my maternal grandmothers family who hails from Kotalipara/ Kotwalipara in Faridpur. I don't know much about this family, but I heard from my grandmother that one of her ancestors, called Tripurasundari, were made Sati (satidaha pratha- abolished in the colonial period).
