The one in Kent is perhaps derived from Old English bord ‘board plank’ or bor ‘hill’ + denu ‘valley’ or denn ‘(swine) pasture’. Bordon in Hampshire is ‘Burdon's valley’ from the Middle English surname Burdon + Middle English dene ‘valley’ (Old English denu).
