A Jacobean manor house built on the remains of a Norman castle that was burned down during the 2nd Barons' War (1264-1267), Bourn Hall is now a world famous clinic for the treatment of infertility.

The timber-framed house from the 16th century was added onto by John and Hagar, in the early 17th century. During the time that the building was owned by the family of George Sackville West, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed there. Later, it was owned by Major John Maclean Griffin, before being acquired by Patrick Steptoe and Bob Edwards, who founded Bourn Hall Clinic.
