British Columbia Fire Services Bravery Medal

The Medal of Bravery was established for members of the fire service, to express, on behalf of the citizens of British Columbia, their gratitude to the fire fighters who have performed acts of courage and bravery without concern for their own personal safety. Nominations must be made in writing, to the Fire Commissioner. Nominations will be researched by the Office of the Fire Commissioner and forwarded to the Bravery Award Committee for consideration and final recommendation to the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

Description

A red maple leaf outlined in silver with silver maple leaves (6) between the arms of the maple leaf. In the centre is an annulus.

Obverse

Superimposed upon the central annulus is a red fireman’s cross with a gold emblem of the Province of British Columbia superimposed on it and around the bottom of the Red Cross, ingold, a ribbon.

Ribbon

A red ribbon with two wide white stripes 5 mm from each edge.

Mounting

A straight silver bar attached to the medal by three links.
