Treaty Between the Cherokee and Georgia and South Carolina dated May 20, 1777: The "definitive treaty of peace" convened at Dewitt's Corner, South Carolina. The General Assembly of South Carolina on 13 February appointed Commissioners to conclude a peace with the Cherokee Nation: Andrew Williamson, LeRoy Hammond, George Galphin, William Henry Drayton, and Daniel Horry. Georgia appointed Jonathan Bryan, Jonathan Cochran, George Wereat, John Walton, and William Glascock as Commissioners to attend the Indian Congress at Dewitt's Corners.

Cannatiskeetuowie (aka the Red-bird of No-Ewee), Oustassittee (aka the Man-killer of Chote), Skalaluska (aka the Second Man), Cleeroonakee, Clocoheta, Chooconattee, Coskua, and Chinistisha declared they had the support of their people as deputies with full power to negotiate peace. The Cherokee acknowledge their defeat and cede their lands east of the Unacaye Mountains, acknowledging defeat to forces at Fort Essenecca. The Government of SC would regulate trade to supply Cherokee with goods and establish protocols of law and order at Fort Rutledge, regarding trespass on Cherokee land and also death penalty policies regarding murder of whites by Cherokees and vice versa. Rewards for apprehension of and return of runaway Negroes to white authorities. "The hatchet shall be forever buried, and there shall be an universal peace and friendship...."

Treaty Between the Overhill Band of Cherokee and North Carolina, July 20, 1777: Treaty concluded at Fort Henry on the Holston River near the Long Island. "Hostilities shall forever cease....and peace, friendship and mutual confidence shall ensue." Cherokee will release all white or Negro prisoners and all horses and livestock and property taken since the beginning of the late War. Any white man wishing to reside or pass through the Overhill Towns must have a certificate signed by three Justices of the Peace and, if so, to be guaranteed safety. Any murder will result in death penalty. Establishes boundary land and Overhill Cherokee agree to cede land beyond boundary to state of NC.

Treaty Between the Cherokee and Georgia, May 31, 1783 (Augusta Convention) between Govr and Commander-in-Chief Lyman Hall, Gen. John Twiggs, Col. Elijah Clark, Col. W. Few, Edward Telfair, Gen. Samuel Elbert, all Commrs appointed by the Legislature, and Tarpin (of the Lower Towns), Tarpin (son of the Great Warrior), the Bird-in-Close (or Che qua ena), Neneen Jack, Claunaw, Chicasaw-Tue, Ascaster, Amakantie, Clau Wastie, Joenatua, Jula taha, John, Chisqua Una, China Wata, Calata, Junasluta, and Canauta, head men, warriors and chiefs of the hordes or tribes of Cherokee Indians

Differences between parties be forgotten; Indians will pay debts to merchants and restore property, negroes and horses taken during the late war; order that a new line be drawn between white settlements and Indian hunting ground; in consideration of this friendship, the state has given presents to the Cherokee "of a considerable amount"; guarantee protection of traders and government will regulate trade; agreement to cede the lands beyond the agreed boundary to the people and government of Georgia.

CHEROKEE AGENCY, January 6, 1817.

We, the undersigned Chiefs of the Cherokee nation, do hereby grant unto Nicholas Byers, Arthur H. Henly, and David Russell, proprietors of the Unicoy road to Georgia, the liberty of cultivating all the ground contained in the bend on the north side of Tennessee river, opposite and below Chota Old Town, together with the liberty to erect a grist mill on Four Mile creek, for the use and benefit of said road, and the Cherokees in the neighbourhood thereof; for them, the said Byers, Henly, and Russell, to have and to hold the above privileges during the term of lease of the Unicoy road, also obtained from the Cherokees, and sanctioned by the President of the United States. /S/
