African American Cemetery. The Crescent View Cemetry is located on the old Crescent View Plantation, approximately three miles south of Pulaski, Tennessee. The cemetery is on the hillside just below the Meredith Cemetery.
The Crescent View Cemetery dates back to the days when the plantation was likely the largest operating plantation in Giles County and had many slaves. However, the cemetery has been completely destroyed and crops are now grown on the cemetery grounds.
Crescent View Plantation which consists of 847 acres was originally owned by the Thomas H. Meredith, Sr. Family (1814-1845) and later by The Tyree Rodes, Jr. Family (1845-1892). Since 1950 the farm has been owned by the Spry Family. Crescent View continues as a working farm today (2018).
