My 2nd ggf was David Jacovsky (maybe Gekofsky) Kosky, 1877-1924, and I’ve been trying to find his siblings, parents and ancestors for the past decade. I just recently found some help and began finding his branch of the family.

What I found were so many versions of Koskys. Different spellings; different original names, different chosen names altogether! Add to that, the same given names are used, reused and overused from family to family and generation to generation. It also spans from country to country.

On top of all of that, there are some people who don’t do their own research and merely copy what others have done… which was wrong, from the start! Now there’s an extraordinary amount of bad information floating around intermingled with fair-to-good information and that’s a recipe for a mess!

I propose a project for all descendants of Koskys so we can — once and for all — get all our families straight and complete AND clean up the 35+ pages of (mostly private) and highly duplicated Koskys on Geni.com.

Right now most of my Koskys are on my Ancestry tree. So I’ll need to move them here. Everyone who is a part of this project must do the same for the good of the entire group.

Together we will decide the best way to provide a clean Kosky clan when we are finished. Maybe we can create master profiles so some numb-nut can’t come along and screw it up. They can link to it but not modify it.

I’ll be inviting the people I’ve come in contact with so far and that I know are Kosky related. As members, you too can do the same with your documented Kosky family members who are researching the family.
