This is a gathering place for the descendant's of Nicholas Massey (1630-1693). If you have a (proven) connection through genetic testing of the paternal YDNA or have connected through atDNA please join us! We are interested in genetic genealogy and the ascendancy of this royal line tracing back to the progenitor Lord Hamo de Mascy / Hammond Massey. Our primary interest has been the Ancestor's of Jacob "Jac" Massey/ Massey born in 1760 in Rowan, North Carolina. Jac died May 14, 1796 in Montgomery Co. Kentucky. He was buried on the farm of John Allen. This line has recently proven a connection back to Sir Nicholas Massey (1630-1696). Members of his paternal line who have tested their DNA can be found in group #12 of the Massey DNA Project or the Z138 Haplogroup at Family Tree DNA. Recent discoveries suggests we are of Anglo-Norman origin and closely matching those of ancient Germanic Origin. DNA matching of this paternal line have yielded the following results: I1(M253)<Z58<Z138>I1-Z138 S2293+ S6277+ S6270+ S20289+ A6397+ FT66907+ Y94431+ Branch, Massey. DYS385=13-16, DYS570=17, (Yfull=A10006). A10006 is our current terminal SNP.
