This project is a meeting place for users who share the E-L117 Y-DNA haplogroup, which means they are related along their paternal lines. Users in this group may want to share their family trees with each other to find overlaps and merge duplicate profiles in order to join or expand the World Family Tree and discover new relatives.
Re: DNA matching with Carl Weil, born in Randegg and died in Chicago. The connection, as my great grandfather, has been proven by documentation, Weil and other relatives, as well as DNA.
My E-L117 designation is not used by other companies with whom I've tested, over a period of 8 years. Consequently, there may be some confusion amongst the DNA inexpert. 23andMe E-1b1b1c1a* - tested: 2 sons, 1 brother, 1 cousin - all males have the same haplos Living DNA E-M84 ftDNA E-M35 by a Y-12 test As tests and test standards proliferate, the more confusing the result designations for Y-DNA matches. For example, ftDNA also has matches to me designated E-FGC55484, E-BY10773, E-Y5412 etc Other test designations are: E-L117 E-M123 E-M126
