llis Park, a large subdivision with 176 homes, built on the site of the Ellis homestead and aptly named for the family.
An unkempt grave with a broken headstone was discovered while developing the area. It was the grave of Mary Ellen Branning Ellis. The developer repaired the headstone, preserved the area and made a memorial garden in the subdivision aptly named after her Ellis family.
Her descendants greatly appreciate the care given to her grave site.
