his is a public cemetery located off Highway 37 on Fitzgerald Road, Lakeland, Florida. It was originally part of 80 acres owned and homesteaded by Mr. Fitzgerald (whom the cemetery and road are named after). The land for the cemetery was purchased for $10.00. The cemetery holds a small masoleum and is divided into 4 sections. It holds the graves of one Spanish-American soldier, several CSA soldiers, numerous World War I and World Ward II soldiers. It is an active cemetery although there are very few plots still available for purchase.
