Flat Creek Baptist Church was established in 1818 as a church for members of the Cherokee Nation.
The church and adjacent cemetery are located near the end of Flat Creek Road, just before Sunrise Cove Marina on Lake Lanier.
Directions from Atlanta: Take I-85 to I-985 (Lanier Pkwy.) Take Exit 12, Spout Springs Rd. towards Flowery Branch (left turn.) Take the first right (.3 ml) onto Thurmond Tanner Rd., then left onto GA Hwy 13 South (Buford Hwy.) (1.3 mls.) Turn right onto Radford Rd. (.1 ml.,) then right onto McEver Rd. (.5 ml.,) then left onto J. White Rd. (2.2 ml.,) then left onto Flat Creek Rd. (.5 ml.) The church and cemetery will be on the right (1.7 ml.)
