Havelock North Cemetery is situated on the corner of Lucknow Road and Tanner Street.

Havelock North was established in 1860 with the sale of the first 74 sections. Initial building progress was slow with mainly businesses being established to service the local community and passing North - South traffic. By 1910 several social activities gave the residents a sense of local identity and the community became a village.

The cemetery contains the graves of early pioneers and settlers, tracing the story of pastoral and land development through the years. It contains the official war graves of 2 men who served in the New Zealand forces during the First World War; Company Quartermaster Sergeant Frederick William Alley and Private Frank Henry St Hill. There are 10 burials of people who served during the 1939-1945 war here.
