I'm not sure if this is where I post this, but this is my project and I am in definite need of collaborators.

My great grandfather's name is Henry Gaston Duncan. He passed away May 14, 1939 in Gaffney, South Carolina. I can't find any evidence of him ever existing prior to marrying my great grandmother, Maggie Aiken.

In the first census that I found them was in the 1900 one. They were using his middle name as their last name while they lived with her mother, Mary Ann Varner Aiken. Maggie was 16 at the time and I believe he was 27 est.

I did manage to find out he had a sister Becky Ann Duncan Wicks. But on neither of their obituaries or death certificates did they mention their parent's names whatsoever. Not sure where to go from there.

On the back of a family photo it was written that his nickname was DB Duncan, which makes no sense considering thats not even his initials. And BAT CAVE, NC was mentioned. Any ideas on what to do from here? Ive tried searching in criminal history somewhat, but i dont know where to go about doing that, either =
