• 1780 San Calixto Hurricane affected Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Bermuda on 9-20 Oct 1780 – 27,501+ deaths
• Mitch affected Central America, Yucatan Peninsula, South Florid on 22 Oct-5 Nov 1998 – 11,000 deaths
• Galveston affected the Caribbean & Texas on 27 Aug-15 Sep 1900 – 8,000 – 12,000 deaths
• 1776 Pointe-a-Pitre Bay – 6,000 deaths
• 1775 Newfoundland Hurricane in North Carolina, Virginia, Newfoundland on 29 Aug-9 Sep 1775 – 4,000 – 4,163 deaths
• Hurricane Gilbert, 1988 affected much of the Caribbean, Central America - “The death toll of 318 gives an idea of the scope of Gilbert’s impacts: Mexico 202, Jamaica 45, Haiti 30, Guatemala 12, Honduras 12, Dominican Republic 5, Venezuela 5, United States 3, Costa Rica 2, and Nicaragua 2.
