This project is a meeting place for users who share the I-P37 Y-DNA haplogroup, which means they are related along their paternal lines. Haplogroup I dates to 23,000 years ago, or older.
The I-P215 lineage is about 15,000 years old and began in southern Europe.
Today it is found primarily in Sardinia and the Balkans.

The I-P37.2+, also known as I2a1a (ISOGG 2019) (The subclade divergence for I-P37.2 occurred 10.7±4.8 thousand years ago.
The age of YSTR variation for the P37.2 subclade is 8.0±4.0 thousand years ago. It is the predominant version of I2 in Eastern Europe.
