This project seeks to collect all of the Jewish families from the town of Mogilev-Podolskyi, formerly in the Russian Empire, now Ukraine.
About Mogilev-Podolskiy
Mohyliv-Podilskyi (Ukrainian: Могилів-Подільський, Russian: Могилёв-Подо́льский, Polish: Mohylów Podolski, Romanian: Moghilǎu/Movilǎu, Yiddish: מאָהילעװ) is a city in the Mohyliv-Podilskyi Raion (district) of the Vinnytsia Oblast (province), Ukraine. Administratively, Mohyliv-Podilskyi is incorporated as a town of regional significance. It also serves as the administrative center of Mohyliv-Podilskyi Raion, one of twenty-seven districts of Vinnytsia Oblast, though it is not a part of the district. It is located on the border with Bessarabia, Moldova, along the left bank of the Dniester river. On the opposite side of the river lies the Moldovan town of Otaci, and the two municipalities are connected to each other by a bridge. Population: 31,674 (2015 est.). Source: Wikipedia
You'll find lovely street images of early 20th century Mogilev-Podolskiy here (page) and here (page). More archival photos are here.
Alternative spellings: Mogilev-Podolskiy, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Mogilev-Podol'skiy, Mogilev-Podolski, Mohyliv-Podil's'kyy, Mogilow, Mohilev Podolsk, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Mogilevski Podol, and Mogilev, Podolia, Russia.
Mogilev-Podolskiy vs. Mogilev, Belarus
There is a small city in eastern Belarus that was also called Mogilev (Wikipedia; JewishGen). Early 20th century immigrants' passenger records frequently refer to both towns simply as "Mogilev, Russia" which leads to much confusion.
The passenger records will sometimes also refer to Podolia, a region that is distinctive for Mogilev-Podolskiy. Also, if a family lived in Mogilev and Otaci (aka Ataki), then the reference is almost certainly to Mogilev-Podolskiy, which was connected by bridge to what is now Otaci, Moldova, across the Dniester River. Another indicator is any reference to Vinnitsa/Vinnytsia, which is both a nearby major city and also the name of the surrounding district or province. Mogilev-Podolskiy was under Romanian control for a brief time, and some immigrants' records will indicate Romania as their origin.

Mogilev-Podolskiy Lineages at Geni
The links below are usually to the oldest known resident of Mogilev-Podolskiy (or a very nearby town, including Otaci/Ataki) in a lineage. These will be people who were born, lived in, or died there. Visiting the linked profile will typically lead to relatives, at least some of whom also were residents. Usually only one exemplar from each lineage is presented below.
Surnames have been drawn from various online sources given above, including the Mogilev-Podol'skiy kehilalinks page and the JewishGen Family Finder database searched for "Mohyliv-Podilskyy" in Ukraine. However, this is almost certainly not a complete list of surnames for all Jewish residents of the town.
In some cases there is a Geni project specifically dedicated to a surname in Mogilev-Podolskiy or the vicinity, in which case a link to that project is given. This section is under active development, but we hope to eventually have many of these known Mogilev-Podolskiy surnames linked to trees here at Geni.
