The following info is from Wikipedia unless otherwise noted. Stankov is located in the district of Domazlice, whereas Geni places it in the Klatovsky district. The town has an origin that dates to at least 1233. It has halfway between Pilsen and Domazlice in Bohemia within the Czech Republic. As of 2006, it has 3100 inhabitants and has no major employers. Stankov is about 30 km to Klatovy 28 km to Plzen and 24 km to Domazlice. I, Tony Hausner, had jewish ancestors, the Blochs, who moved to Stankov in the 1860s from Osvracin which is fairly nearby. They moved their rag business between the towns to improve their business according to a Osvracin register, which was dated 1922, but covered the period of time that included at least 1860-1922. The following information was reported in a paper prepared by Hönig & Müller, Genealogy Research, Prague, Czech Republic. The Jewish community was seated here since 1892 (transfered from Puclice). There was a private house with prayer room. In 1910, there were 17 Jews in Staňkov, in 1930 only 2 people. In 1931, Stankov merged with Domazlice Jewish community. The cemetery in Puclice served the Jewish populations for the towns of Nyrany, Stankov, Nahosice, Osvracín as none of the towns had a large enough Jewish population to support a cemetery for each town. .
