This project seeks to collect all of the Jewish families from the town of Widoma, Poland.
Widoma, Poland was a small Jewish community located across the Pilica River from Przedborz, Poland. Residents could walk from Przedborz to Widoma using the bridge connecting the two towns. The approximate coordinates for Widoma are 51 05 N 19 53 E. Widoma was about 94 miles SSW of Warszawa. Widoma had a Jewish cemetery and a house of worship and its own rabbi.
Between 1950-1970, some former residents of Przedborz visited the town. They found the Jewish houses of Widoma destroyed. In Przedborz, most of the Jewish houses were also destroyed by the Nazis. The Jewish cemetery in Widoma, near the bridge, was completely desecrated, with only a few tombstones remaining. The other tombstones were used to pave the streets of Przedborz and Widoma during the days of the German occupation.
