Saint-François-Xavier-de-Caughnawaga

Mission iroquoise établie à Laprairie en 1667 par le père Jésuite Raffeix. De 1667 à 1783 la mission fut desservie par les Jésuites ; de 1783 à 1903, par des prêtres laïques et par des pères Oblats. Les Jésuites ont repris la desserte de 1903 à 1925+.

Mgr de Laval mit cette mission sous le patronage de saint François-Xavier en l'honneur des Jésuites qui en furent les premiers desservants.
