  • For a background on the life and work of Carl Laemmle, see Wikipedia...
  • For Carl Laemmle's role in saving jews from Germany, see the New York Times...
  • In German, "Carl Laemmle und Deutschland", by Dr. Udo Bayer. Note: This page is under construction. Its aim is to build a repository of the individuals and families that Carl Laemmle was able to take out of Germany in the few years prior to WW2. Please collaborate formally with the project in case you wish to add names to the list. In case there is no Geni profile yet for a specific individual, please add basic details in the list.

Laemmle's List

It is unlikely that Carl Laemmle had a formal list. He probably proceeded ad hoc only. However, pulling together all the individuals he saved results in a list - hence the name of this project.

  • to the family of Emil Treitel, wife and three children, a document of Carl Laemmle is shown to all five profiles
