I've been researching the Conways a bit more - I think I've managed to find another generation back - my ggg grandfather Richard Conway born about 1800. Our census information is poor prior to 1901 as a lot got destroyed in a fire. Some property rental records exist and I think these are relevant for our Conway anscestors. This record says that Richard Conway was in "Laragan" Bekan in 1833 - pretty sure it's Lurgan....the Gaelic spelling was an Lorgain:
