- Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation: Located in Mayetta, Kansas
- Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska: Located in Brown County, Kansas
Other tribes in Kansas's history: Arapaho, Cheyenne, Comanche, Kansa, Kiowa, Osage, Pawnee, and Wichita.
Many of the tribes that were originally native to Kansas were forced to move to Oklahoma in the late 19th century. This was due to the fertile land in Kansas and Nebraska being opened to white settlement.
