The John Wickliffe was a 662 ton sailing vessel that brought 97 (mainly Scottish) immigrants from London, England (sailed 22 November 1847) to Otago, New Zealand arriving 23 March 1848. The master of the ship, for this voyage, was Capt. B. Daly (refer Crew List).

This ship was one of the first to bring immigrants to New Zealand from the United Kingdom in the mid-1800's and the first to Otago.

Mr. John Sands, of Greenock, Scotland who owned the John Wickliffe, received £2000 for the charter.
