ARRIVAL OF THE WANGANUI.

The N.Z.S. Company's flne ship Wanganai arrived yesterday from London after an uneventful passage of 92 days from Plymouth. She came into port In a very clean condition, and passed examination at the hands of Dr. Philson very satisfactorily. Tha Wanganul la a comparatively new iron ship of 1077 tons register. She was built by Stephens in 1877, and has also then made two trlps to Christchurch, and two to Dunedin. The ship Is in command of Captain Watt, a gentleman who made himself very popular when in Auckland as master of the Celestial Queen,. The Wanganui left London on the present voyage on Ausust 7th, and on the 9th a light N. W. breeze set in which carried the trades. These were met with, 30degs N, but proved very light. Passed to the eastward of Madiera, sighting the Deserters. Lost the N.W. trades in 16degs N. Thence to 2degs N. experienced very unsteady S, W. monsoons ; there the SE. trades were picked up. These were moderate and carried to 23degs a To Trietan d'Aoinha W.N. W. winds prevailed, that island being passed on September 25th. The meridian of Greenwich was passed on the 23rd, on the fortieth parallel, and the meridian of the Cope was crossed on October 1. Thence to the Leuwln moderate aw. winds were experienced after which fresh N.N.VV. breezes carried to Tasmania, off which place baffling winds were experienced for three or four days. Thence a nice N.W. wind carried to the Three Kings, which were sighted at 3 o'clock on Friday alter- ■ noon. Cape Brett was passed at 10 am. of Saturday, but the weather being dirty the ship was hove to till midnight, when, the weather clearing up, Sall was again made, and the Barrier was passed at 5 o'clock on Sunday morning. The surgeon-superintendent. Dr Dunkeld. reports that the health of the passengers on the whole has been very satisfactory. The Wanganui brought a full general cargo valued at £14,000 and.th« following passengers:
