Norman had gone to Dalhousie, N.B. to enter the lumbering business but later came back to his father home and built the stone house. After this house was built Norman stepped on a nail in the attic. Blood poisoning set in ant was necessary to amputate his leg. He died shortly afterwards.

They were the parents of George and James Gordon, the Missionary Martyrs in Erromango, Vanuatu, New Hebrides, and were the great grandparents of the present Robert Gordon of the C.N.R. in Moncton.
• Edward Ramsay – fourth son of Neil was the father of Elizabeth who later married James Ramsay, father of Rev. E. H. Ramsay. They lived in what is known as the “Old House” at Howard Ramsay’s farm on Shipyard point.
