This project is intended to be a storehouse and reference for the Rosboroughs who lived in and emigrated from Northern Ireland. I've amalgamated what is known of this family from web trees and hope to augment that with better source materials over time.

The Northern Ireland Rosboroughs are thought to have come originally from Scotland during the Ulster Plantation days. As such, they were universally Presbyterian, and I've found no evidence that any of them became (say) Quakers. The founding immigrant (or one of them) is Patrick Rosborough . After his day, Rosboroughs spread out over the territory, and were shortly found in Antrim, Fernanagh, Londonderry, and County Down. Several times there were offshoots of this family who emigrated to the US (New Jersey and South Carolina), as well as Canada. These families give us insights into the relationships and intermarriages of the family in Northern Ireland. Specific families:

  • Crozier
  • Bailey
  • Monteith
  • McLaughlin
  • Lindsay
  • Cunningham
  • Hall
  • Wallow (or Mallow)
  • Barton
  • Ross
  • Williams

Individuals or family heads that immigrated to the New World, or lived there for a time, are:

Hopefully if others are discovered they can be added to this project.
