On 8 April 1861, at the Old Bailey, James Bradford (14) pleaded guilty to warehouse breaking and larceny and was sentenced to be confined for one calendar month and then for three years in a Reformatory. He had been charged with John Bradford (47), his father, who also pleaded guilty, of stealing 37½ lbs. of whalebone, value £7 10s.; also 57lbs. of whalebone, and other goods, the property their master. John Bradford was sentenced to four years’ penal servitude
John Dodd was charged at Bath General Quarter Sessions (4.1.61) with larceny by a servant and was sentenced to one month imprisonment and four years at a Reformatory
George Goble was sentenced on 15 July 1861 at Brighton Quarter Sessions to 1 months’ hard labour and three years in a Reformatory for larceny. For a second offence of larceny, he was sentenced on 17 July 1865 to seven years’ penal servitude
