Back in 2009 my daughter, Alexandra, asked me for a family tree because she has to submit one for her 5th grade school project. I quickly drew up one based on what I personally knew from growing up in Argao, Philippines. I got my sister, Roslyn, involved in it and she added a whole bunch of them in a very short order. My wife, Armi, then joined in to expand her branch of the family.
Adding the living was easy because you can just call them or message them in Facebook. My parents are also a good source of information based on their interactions with their relatives growing up.
Ten years later, my wife can trace her ancestry all the way to the 1500s (US, Swiss and German roots). My side of the family, however, is still a big mystery as it is a very rare surname and I've ran out of people to ask.
The aim of this project is to crack that mystery. Hopefully, like-minded Sarcaugas from all over the world can help on this project and provide insight as to;
- Who are we descended from, and
- Where are we now in the world
