Project Tags

The Sayler Genealogy Project is devoted to sorting out the genealogies of the different Sayler, Saylor, Seyler, Seilor, Seiler lines that immigrated to the United States, many from Germany, Switzerland, and elsewhere in northern Europe.

This project focuses in particular on the ancestors and descendants of Jacob Johannas Sayler, born 13 Jan 1747/48 in Berks, Co., Pennsylvania, died in 21 Sept. 1800 in Pickaway, Ohio. Married to Mary Elizabeth Steele. Genealogists often call this individual, Jacob Sayler, Sr., and he was purportedly a gunsmith and repaired guns during the Revolutionary War.

This project also focuses on the many descendants of Henry Sayler, Sr., (b. 20 Sep 1782, Bedford Co., Pa; d. 6 Jan 1854 in Richland Twp., Marion Co., Ohio. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Kepner (b. 25 Dec 1805 in Pickaway, Ohio, d. 18 May 1869 in Richland Twp., Marion Co., Ohio).
