Looking for parents of Joseph W. Taylor born in Cameron, Steuben County March 31, 1824 and his sister, Sarah Taylor born in Bath, Steuben County, 1817.
Sarah married Daniel D. Rogers and lived in Troupsburg, Steuben, NY. Sarah moved with grown family members in 1860s arriving in Oregon during 1870s, died at Hood River OR 1899. Sarah's husband, Daniel D. Rogers born NY 4-Feb-1815, died 18 Oct 1896 at Hood River, OR.
Joseph W. Taylor married Lucy Jane Denton b. PA, died 1890 believed to have been at Alma, Allegany County, NY. Joseph traveled with two daughters and their families in 1898 to Oregon in search of his sister, Sarah. Joseph died in Portland OR and is buried at Brainard Cemetery.
Have not been able to find any connection of birth parents of Joseph W. Taylor in 1824, those parents being same as for Sarah Taylor.
It is noted that although Joseph's birthplace is Cameron in Steuben County and Sarah's birthplace is Bath in Steuben County, Cameron was established only 2 years before Joseph was born. The parents could have lived at the same location which changed names after Sarah was born.
