Several passengers died on board, as listed below. This gave rise to criminal proceedings brought against George Tyson Sandiford for making false statements to William Hobbs, the health officer at Moreton Bay. He was sentenced to 6 months. The proceedings took place on 31 May and 1 June 1864.
